‘I love packed houses’: Nets get big lift from unlikely hero

Sean Kilpatrick saved his best for last.

And for a packed house.

Kilpatrick, who joined the Nets last season when crowds were, shall we say, less than robust at Barclays Center, poured in 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter when the Nets pulled away and outscored the Pacers, 31-15, on the way to a 103-94 victory at Barclays Center.

“I’ve always been a guy when my number is called and it’s a packed house. I love playing in front of packed houses like this,” said Kilpatrick, who grew up in White Plains. “It’s something every kid, especially growing up in New York, dreams about doing. The team did a great job making sure I was confident in everything I was doing.”

At one point, Pacers pal C.J. Miles gave Kilpatrick a stare.

“C.J. looked at me and gave me a look that said, ‘You’re on fire right now,’ ” said Kilpatrick, who shot 4-of-6 in the fourth quarter.

“Sean was great,” said Nets coach Kenny Atkinson, who got his first win. “Sean has had a fantastic summer. … He has just worked so hard. It’s great to see him have a good night.”

Former Net Thaddeus Young made his return to Barclays Center on Friday with the Pacers. He scored 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting and grabbed eight boards, but saw his team blow a fourth quarter lead.

“They outplayed us,” Young said. “They made plays towards the end.”

Young had averaged 15.1 points and a career-high nine boards in 73 games for the Nets last season, but got shipped to Indiana for the rights to Caris LeVert . He denied any added incentive facing his old club.

“Nah, it’s like any other game. This is not my first rodeo of being traded, so it’s like any other game. Just go out there and have fun,’’ said Young, who wasn’t shocked to get dealt.

“No. Anything can happen in this league. So I was prepared for it.”

Brook Lopez is second in team history in 20-point games behind Vince Carter.

Brooklyn has outscored the Celtics and Pacers 67-40 in 4th quarters of their first 2 games this season. They held Indiana to 7-of-24 from 3-point range.

Trevor Booker had a double double with 10 points and 11 boards, while Kilpatrick had 18 points and was a team-high plus-25.

Coney Island’s Isaiah Whitehead did not play, but became the first Brooklyn native to suit up for the Nets in a game in the borough.

Guard Randy Foye (hamstring) was out Friday and told The Post he’s likely to miss Saturday’s game in Milwaukee, as well.
