Landlord of exploded building says she didn’t know about pot farm

The landlord of the Bronx building that exploded Tuesday — killing an FDNY chief — says she was clueless about the pot farm inside her dwelling.

“I had no idea this was going on,” landlord Violetta Guerrero told The Post on Wednesday morning. “I am so sorry about what happened. My heart goes out to his family.”

Battalion Chief Michael Fahy, a 17-year department veteran, leaves behind a wife and three young children.

“I don’t care about the property. I feel terrible for the firefighter who lost his life, all those who were injured and all the tenants,” added Guerrero, who has owned the two-story residential building in Kingsbridge for about six years.

Fahy, 44, was fatally struck by a piece of debris from the building’s roof as he stood on West 234th Street following the Tuesday morning blast.

Twenty other people also suffered injuries, including six police officers, three Con Ed workers, nine firefighters and two civilians.

Firefighters initially responded to the scene after receiving a report of a gas leak in the building.

When they entered the rental home, they were hit by gas fumes. On the second floor, they discovered the illegal weed operation and promptly called the NYPD.

Responding officers found marijuana plants inside plastic pots and a 55-gallon drum filled with fertilizer in a “dark grow room,” one source said.

Cops and firefighters sealed off the room and went outside to wait for a Con Ed crew to arrive when the building suddenly blew up, ripping off the roof and sending debris flying everywhere.

Fahy was known as a rising star in the FDNY and a doting family man who followed in his father’s footsteps in the department.
