Sumner Redstone heads to court to block granddaughter

It ain’t over ’til it’s over.

Lawyers for Sumner Redstone will be in court on Friday to try to get his granddaughter’s attempt to examine the 93-year-old mogul thrown out.

Keryn Redstone, one of five beneficiaries of a trust set up by National Amusements Inc., the family-run business that controls Viacom and CBS, is simply aiming to get an early payout, Rob Klieger, Sumner’s lawyer at Hueston Hennigan, said in court papers filed Thursday.

“Keryn’s legal team has strived mightily (but unsuccessfully) to initiate their own settlement discussion through every avenue imaginable,” Klieger said in the filing.

Keryn is represented by Greenberg Glusker legal eagle Pierce O’Donnell, who nearly got a $30 million payoff for Sumner’s ex-gal pal Manuela Herzer.

O’Donnell also represented Amber Heard in her divorce from Johnny Depp.

Keryn’s lawyers are arguing that the settlement with ex-Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman should be reviewed since it gives no clarity on whether Sumner was competent to oust Dauman as a member of the NAI trust, which will pay each of Sumner’s grandchildren $1 billion upon his death.
