Trump slams Clinton for ‘rigged system’ in first general election TV ad

Donald Trump released his first general election TV ad Friday morning, blaming Hillary Clinton for a “rigged system,” emphasizing his anti-illegal immigrant message, and promising that in his America, families will be safe.

“In Hillary Clinton’s America, the system stays rigged against Americans,” the ad’s voiceover begins.

“Syrian refugees flood in. Illegal immigrants convicted of committing crimes get to stay, collecting Social Security benefits, skipping the line. Our border open. It’s more of the same, but worse.”

Midway through the 30-second spot, the voiceover transitions to what the USA would be like under a Trump presidency: “Donald Trump’s America is secure. Terrorists and dangerous criminals kept out. Border secure. Our families safe. Change that makes America safe again.”

The ad is part of a nearly $5 million commercial buy, focusing on the key swing states of Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
