Army vet who stabbed ex-Knick arrested again

The U.S. Army vet who stabbed ex-Knick player Chris Copeland outside a Chelsea nightclub lost his generous plea deal after he was rearrested on new felony charges in Brooklyn.

Justice Gregory Carro Wednesday blasted Shevoy Bleary-Murdock, 23, for blowing the sweetheart deal that amounted to about a week in jail and sentenced him to six months behind bars.

“I don’t know what to say? You were given a great deal,” the judge told a stone-faced Bleary-Murdock as he sat at the defense table in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Bleary-Murdock was pulled over in a Mercedes Benz in Brooklyn June 24, just three days after he took the deal, and was busted with 17 forged credit cards, marijuana and an unloaded high-capacity magazine, prosecutors said.

Carro questioned why the college student had turned to identity theft. “Maybe you do this because you like going to clubs, and it’s beyond your means, regardless of how hard you work,” the judge said, referring to 1OAK, the club where he gutted Copeland April 8, 2015. “If it’s the type of club where NBA players are, I’m sure it’s pretty expensive.”

The defendant was immediately cuffed and taken into custody.

ADA Courtney Groves asked for two years state prison, arguing that the defendant had duped the people into giving him the original offer by claiming he wasn’t engaged in any criminal activity.

Defense lawyer Michael Perkins called the crime an “aberration” for a man who served in the U.S. Army for three years, is studying for a degree in construction management and is working full-time as a union carpenter.

The altercation at 1OAK began when Bleary-Murdock interrupted a fight between Copeland and his girlfriend, Katrine Saltara, outside the club.

When the hoops star told him to back off, the defendant whipped out a switchblade and stabbed Copeland in the stomach. He then sliced Saltara after she jumped him in a bid to protect her boyfriend.
