Mattel hopes ‘Game Developer Barbie’ will get girls into tech

The secret to getting young girls interested in tech? Barbies, of course.
That’s the reasoning from Mattel, which recently unveiled the latest incarnation of the iconic doll: Game Developer Barbie.
As opposed to her usual frilly dresses and high-heeled shoes, Game Developer Barbie sports jeans, a jacket, sneakers, dyed hair, hipster glasses, laptop, table and headset — and shockingly none of it is in pink.
She is currently selling for $175 on Amazon.
