Bakhshi’s Megu checks into Dream Downtown hotel

French Japanese fusion didn’t fare so well for the posh restaurant Cherry, from BONDST restaurateur Jonathan Moore, in the Dream Downtown hotel, at 355 W. 16th St., near Ninth Avenue.

Now Megu, a Japanese “clubstaurant,” is coming to the subterranean space. It will be just as upscale, but with a different, more purist twist, and still a good spot for dates and group get togethers.

Megu — from Jon Bakhshi, of Beautique — is slated to open mid-July.

The 2,800 square-foot space will have 145 seats. It will include a six-seat sushi bar in addition to a main bar that will have 10 seats.

The executive chef is Frances Tariga-Weshnak, the former chef de cuisine at Catch and a Top Chef contestant.

Megu formerly had spaces in Tribeca and Midtown’s Trump Tower.

Both shut down without notice in 2014.

The Squeeze, a Bushwick-based juice bar and vegan food shop, is opening a Greenwich Village location at 108 MacDougal St.

The 250 square-foot space will serve pressed juices, raw milks and detox cleanses, including a 3-day Skinner Squeeze package for $228.

It also hosts classes in raw food prep and nutritional counseling.

Eastern Consolidated’s Jeff Geoghegan and Max Swerdloff represented The Squeeze while the landlord was represented by Winick Realty Group’s Steven E. Baker.

Squeeze Juice also sells its products at 233 Spring St., 550 W. 54th St., and 52 Gansevoort St.

Its flagship location is at 196 Graham Ave. in Brooklyn.

We hear … that La Sirena Ristorante, from celeb chef Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich at the Maritime Hotel at 88 Ninth Ave., is partnering with Barton & Gray Mariners Club. La Sirena has “curated” two menus for folks cruising on New York City outings. Barton & Gray has a fleet of crewed Hinckley yachts across the Eastern seaboard — from New York and the Hamptons, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket to Palm Beach, Miami and the Bahamas.
