Cops hunt sunglasses thief who stole $20K worth of shades

This sunglasses thief is shady.

Cops are looking for a man who stole $20,000 worth of sunglasses from various stores in Manhattan over the last six months.

He stole at least 53 pairs of shades during ten separate incidents between last December and May 19th, police said.

The brazen thief robbed some of the locations multiple times, sometimes just days apart.

He hit up a Sunglass Hut in the Financial District at least four separate times between January and April, stealing 20 pairs from that location alone, police said.

His last two incidents were at another Sunglass Hut about 2 miles away.

He robbed the location twice within a month and stole a total of 21 pairs, police said.

Cops say the sunglass swindler was belligerent when clerks approached him for stealing.

He’d start yelling at the shopkeepers, even pushing some of them before taking off on foot, police said.

The above photo was taken on March 10th when he robbed two pairs of sunglasses from a Solstice Sunglasses store in Midtown.

The investigation is ongoing.
