These ‘Game of Thrones’ stars are also musicians

The music on “Game of Thrones” is almost exclusively instrumental, save for a few indie band cameos like the National performing “The Rains of Castamere” in Season 2 (and by Sigur Rós in Season 4) and the Hold Steady recording “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” in Season 3.

But should the HBO drama ever want to record a cast album, they’ve actually got a deep bench to draw from. While Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy, is famous for being singer Lily Allen’s brother (her 2006 song “Alfie” is about him), several other “Thrones” actors are musical stars in their own right.

Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm)

The commander of the Unsullied goes by many names. As a singer/songwriter, Anderson releases music under the stage name Raleigh Ritchie. His debut studio album “You’re a Man Now, Boy,” full of electronic-influenced R&B/pop tracks, dropped in February, and he’s even got a few UK tour dates set for August.

John Bradley (Samwell Tarly)

Chubby Sam may not be the bravest or most skilled man in Westeros, but the actor who plays him definitely has some musical chops. Bradley showed off his amazing drumming skills on a UK music competition show “Bring the Noise” in 2015, rocking out to Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” alongside former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger (and a co-percussionist dressed like Daenerys).

Jerome Flynn (Bronn)

Before he was acting as Tyrion Lannister’s (Peter Dinklage) personal bodyguard, Flynn was a pop star, performing as one half (along with Robson Green) of the ’90s singing duo Robson & Jerome. Their 1995 single Unchained Melody (a cover of the Righteous brothers hit) sold more than 1 million copies and spent seven weeks at the top of the UK charts, and Robson & Jerome went on to record two No. 1 albums.

Carice van Houten (Melisandre)

The Red Woman is a lady of many talents. Besides being responsible for bringing Jon Snow (Kit Harington) back to the land of the living, the actress has tried her hand as a singer. Van Houten released a pop-rock album in 2012 titled “See You on the Ice,” which includes this bouncy single “Emily.”

Kristian Nairn (Hodor)

While Hodor’s name was remixed this season, the actor behind Bran Stark’s (Isaac Hempstead Wright) lovable companion is also a professional DJ. He’s held a residency for 11 years at Dublin venue Kremlin and appeared onstage with acts like Scissor Sisters, Mylo, Calvin Harris and Alphabeat. Naim is currently performing his DJ act, fittingly called Rave of Thrones, around the UK (and even a stop in California) this summer. Plus, now that poor Hodor heroically sacrificed himself for Bran, he should theoretically be more available for all your wedding and bar mitzvah needs.

Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton)

When he’s not killing babies or committing patricide as the sadistic Ramsay, the Welsh actor moonlights as an acoustic singer/songwriter. Before his acting career took off, he was the lead singer in a band called the Convictions and he later released three solo EPs between 2010 and 2013, like the Jack Johnson-esque “Bang! Bang!” His first full album, “Dinard,” dropped in 2015.
