The actor who voiced the role of Admiral Ackbar in “Star Wars” died Sunday at his home in Berkeley, Calif., at the age of 93.
Erik Bauersfeld’s fish-faced character was famous for delivering the line, “It’s a trap!” at the climax of the 1983 film “Return of the Jedi,” a line that been repeated countless time as a meme on the Internet.
Bauersfeld also voiced Jabba the Hut’s ghostly steward Bib Fortuna in “Return of the Jedi” and reprised the role of Ackbar in last year’s “The Force Awakens.”
