Gangbanger gets at least 23 years for murdering vagrant

A Brooklyn gangbanger convicted of shooting a homeless man to death was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison Monday, causing his distraught mother to collapse in the hallway outside the courtroom, sobbing proclamations of her son’s innocence.

Victorious Kingsberry shot Gilbert Kelley after the vagrant told him and some friends to keep it down as they whooped it up after a night of partying in March 2015.

Kelley, who was walking down the Clinton Hill street with a cart, was worried the raucous teens would wake up sleeping residents, according to trial testimony.

The now-20-year-old killer fired a single shot, striking Kelley, who had pulled a knife, in the chest.

Assistant District Attorney Robert Walsh told the court Kelley’s family had considered coming, but decided it would be “too painful.”
