City worker likely to be reprimanded for ‘Evil Empire’ Albany dig

The government struck back Monday as Mayor de Blasio vowed to take action against a city worker who equated Albany with “Star Wars” evil Empire on an official Web site.

“Of course, there will be a reprimand. It was a silly thing to do,” the mayor said at an unrelated press conference in Manhattan.

Star Wars Imperial Crest for the Galactic Empire.

“I imagine we’ll be able to figure out who it was. They shouldn’t have done it.”

As The Post first reported, the employee posted a symbol associated with the dark side next to a link for state government on the city’s Green Book Web guide of municipal offices. The symbol was removed after The Post asked about it.

The dig was clearly aimed at Gov. Cuomo, who has been feuding with the mayor since last summer.

De Blasio quipped that the worker who pulled the prank “needs to get out more.”

He didn’t say what form the reprimand would take.

Karen Hinton, the mayor’s press secretary, said that City Hall “will ensure employees understand the rules about posting only relevant and accurate information on Web sites.”
