WASHINGTON — Hillary Clinton said Friday that Donald Trump is not the same man she knew in New York and who welcomed her to his wedding.
“It’s been most surprising to me to see somebody who was affable and was good company, and had a reputation of being kind of bigger than life, really traffic in a lot of the prejudice and paranoia,” Clinton said on MSNBC.
“And some of the comments that he’s made which have been so divisive and mean-spirited doesn’t quite fit with what I thought I knew about him.”
Clinton and husband Bill attended Trump’s extravagant wedding reception at his Trump Palm Beach resort, Mar-a-Lago, in 2005.
Clinton said she didn’t know Trump well, but thought the wedding would be “fun.”
