Nightclub brawl ends in gunfire, stabbing

A woman was shot and a man was stabbed when a large fight erupted at a Brooklyn night club early Friday morning, authorities said.

The melee started when a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach during an argument at Club Republic on Broadway and Vernon Avenue around 1:30 a.m., police said.

The fight eventually spilled outside before several more people jumped in and started swinging at each other.

During the chaos, an unidentified person pulled out a gun and started firing wildly into the crowd, striking a 20-year-old woman in the leg.

Both were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

Police are still investigating the incident.
