Two arrested in vicious attack outside Bronx bar

Two men were arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with an attack outside a Bronx bar over the weekend.

Rahi Suazo, 21, and Karon Burrell, 27, were charged with attacking a 32-year-old man Sunday morning outside the Billiard & Cafe Bar on East 173rd Street near Southern Boulevard, police sources said.

Maynor Elvir suffered a deep gash on the left side of his face after Burrell allegedly cut him with a broken bottle around 3:30 a.m., police sources said. Suazo punched Elvir, the sources said.

Police viewed surveillance video of the attack.

Suazo was charged with multiple counts of assault and harassment. Burrell was charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

Burrell was busted at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was undergoing surgery for an unrelated medical procedure, the sources said.
