It’s going to feel a lot like spring this weekend

After a wet week, the Big Apple is in for a spring-weather stretch as February comes to a close.

Temperatures are expected to get up to 55 degrees Thursday following a stormy Wednesday night that caused more than 1,200 power outages throughout the city thanks to winds gusting at more than 50 mph and heavy rains.

Con Edison was working on restoring 1,230 power outages in Queens and The Bronx early Thursday.

The wind was so strong that a 20-foot-long piece of a Verizon building in Elmhurst smashed onto the pavement – causing police to shut down Vietor Avenue and Broadway as crews worked to remove the debris.

But by Thursday morning, the rain had gone away with some light winds sticking around the area.

The mercury is expected to drop into the low 40s Friday and Saturday, but jump back up to the upper 50s by Sunday.

“It wouldn’t shock me if one of those days hit 60 degrees,” senior AccuWeather meteorologist Tom Kines said, noting that Monday is also projected to get up to at least 57 degrees.

Kines wasn’t ready to promise that winter was over, but said there’s a slim chance that the city will get any more snow accumulations.

“I’d be cautious of saying spring is here, but we’re definitely going to see our share of mild days,” he said.

Meteorologists are expecting an above-normal March, which means New Yorkers should expect temperatures in the mid- to upper 40s with a sprinkling of warmer days mixed in.
