NFL rookie casually watches two women fight over him

Video surfaced on Tuesday that showed Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler playing a role in a fist fight between the mother of his child and his current girlfriend.

TMZ Sports released the video, which shows Fowler apparently playing the role of referee as the two women started fighting in the hallway of a Florida apartment complex.

“I am embarrassed and have apologized for my actions to everyone involved,” Fowler said. “As a family, we have been dealing with this moment and the conflict that led to it since this occurred. The video surfacing is a sad reminder that emotions got the best of all of us. I take 100 percent responsibility for everything that happened.”

The Jaguars also commented on the video.

“Dante brought the incident to our attention prior to the video released and was embarrassed and remorseful,” the team said of Fowler, who missed his entire rookie season after tearing his ACL in training camp.

“Violence of this type against others is unacceptable in our society and to our organization. We will continue to look into the incident while offering resources and providing support to Dante and his family to help them through this private matter.”

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told TMZ Sports that “these are disturbing images and we will review the matter.”
