Man cut in half by L train

A train struck a man — cutting him in half — after he either fell or jumped onto subway tracks in Manhattan on Wednesday morning, police sources said.

The unidentified man was hit by an L subway train at Third Avenue and East 14th Street about 11 a.m., cops said.

It was unclear how he ended up on the tracks, police sources said.

A police source said the train appeared to cut him in half.

Straphanger Jordy Abreu 19, was commuting home to Bushwick in Brooklyn when his train came to a standstill.

“We were in the car, and he was underneath the same car we were in,” he said of the victim.

Police sources said they would have to wait for fingerprints to come back to identify the man because his body was apparently so badly mangled. He didn’t have any ID on him.

It wasn’t clear if he fell or jumped, sources said.
