Two cops injured in effort to avoid out-of-control vehicle

Two cops were injured during a routine car stop in Brooklyn Sunday night when they jumped out of the way of another vehicle that rammed into their police car.

The officers were making a traffic violation stop at Glenmore and Sheffield avenues in East New York at 11 p.m., when another driver sped around the corner, slamming their patrol car.

Both officers sustained minor ankle injuries when they leaped out of the way of the out-of-control vehicle. They were not hit by the car.

Both are being treated at Brookdale Hospital.

The unidentified driver of the vehicle is in custody and being investigated for possible DWI. Charges are pending.
