Madoff’s deceased son’s apartment goes up for sale

The late Andrew Madoff’s Upper East Side apartment is on the market for $5.87 million.

The five-bedroom, 5½-bathroom apartment at 433 E. 74th St. is more than 3,200 square feet.

Andrew, the son of convicted fraudster Bernie Madoff, worked for his father. He was never charged with any crime and died of cancer two years ago, at age 48, with a personal fortune estimated to be worth at least $15 million. Andrew divided that fortune between his ex-wife, two daughters and another woman, Catherine Hooper, who was to receive $50,000 in monthly payments for the rest of her life. Andrew left nothing to his mother, Ruth, who outlived both her sons. Mark Madoff committed suicide in his Soho apartment in 2010, when he was 46.

Andrew Madoff’s former condo is a full-floor, loft-like unit that comes with a foyer, an open chef’s kitchen and a media lounge area. The master suite includes a dressing room and a double-windowed limestone spa. There’s also a home office/gym, a 20-foot private balcony and custom closets.

Another convicted celebrity fraudster, Kenneth Starr, owned the triplex penthouse in the building. He bought it in 2010 for $7.6 million — one month before he was arrested. The feds auctioned the apartment for $5.6 million. Profits from the sale went to pay back his victims, who were owed $29 million. Starr’s clients included Wesley Snipes, Sylvester Stallone and Martin Scorsese.
