Chihuahua becomes a casualty in boyfriend’s jealous rage

An Upper East Side lovers’ quarrel ended badly for a chihuahua when a jealous beau who suspected his boyfriend of cheating allegedly stabbed the man’s dog to death.

José Luis Rodriguez was still covered in Buddy the dog’s blood when cops arrived on the scene, called by horrified parents whose children had witnessed the killing in a park near East 78th Street and the FDR Drive.

Buddy’s owner, Randy Capehart, had entrusted the dog to the care of his partner of 13 years when he flew to Texas for his grandmother’s funeral. He awoke Saturday to calls from detectives telling him his pup was dead, he told The Post.

“Apparently, my former partner had a psychotic break,” a distraught Capehart said.

Rodriguez has been hit with felony charges of criminal mischief, and criminal possession of a weapon.
