Donald Trump is going to win the Republican presidential nomination, according to former New York Republican Sen. Al D’Amato — who has endorsed rival John Kasich.
“Trump will be the nominee,” predicted D’Amato, who endorsed the Ohio governor last summer.
D’Aamto said he believes “it’s too little, too late” for other candidates to stop Trump.
“It’s an uphill battle,” D’Amato said.
“I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the strength Donald has picked up. He has tapped into voter anger over ISIS and illegal immigration,” he said.
He predicted Trump will win the New York primary on April 19.
“I will be very supportive if Trump is the nominee,” D’Amato said.
