Office supplier forged Mets exec’s name in $3.5M scam

A New Jersey office-supply dealer pleaded guilty Thursday to luring investors by forging fake contracts with heavy-hitter “clients’’ such as the New York Mets.

Brooklyn federal prosecutors said disgraced Choice Office Solutions boss Michael Conway forged the name of Mets Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Wilpon on bogus paperwork in order to pump up business.

Conway — who cleared more than $3.5 million in the scheme — told two investors that he had secured a lucrative contract with the Amazin’s.

The dazzled investors, who forked over more than $800,000, apparently failed to notice that he had misspelled the honcho’s name as “Jeffery.”

Conway faces up to 20 years in prison at sentencing.
