Exec accused of forcing ex-girlfriend to have abortion gets charges dropped

Manhattan prosecutors dismissed criminal charges against former KPMG executive Stephen Jones accused of coercing his pretty weather girl ex into having an abortion.

“We have interviewed the complainant and defendant and other witnesses and have reviewed medical records, text messages and phone records,” ADA Tanisha Palvia told Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Steven Statsinger in October.

“After a thorough investigation, the people cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that any of the alleged acts occurred and we move to dismiss this case.”

Roxanna Haynes, 30, told authorities in April that Jones, 48, had allegedly threatened her and her unborn child if she didn’t’ go through with the abortion.

The former Verizon FIOS 1 meteorologist then claimed Jones had marched her to a doctor’s office and forced her to undergo the procedure.

Jones was arrested April 19 and Haynes promptly followed up with a civil suit. But prosecutors couldn’t corroborate her story.

He countersued for malicious prosecution and Haynes agreed to withdraw her civil claim, according to Jones’ lawyer Stacey Richman.

“Every aspect of the allegations to which Haynes swore under penalty of perjury in the criminal complaint are demonstrably false,” wrote Richman in the countersuit.

Jones is thankful the truth finally came out, Richman said.

“It has been a trying time for Mr. Jones as not only was he charged with a heinous crime which he did not commit, but he also suffered because the accusation was publicized in the media,” the lawyer added.

Haynes couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
