‘Smoking kills more people than Obama’: Moscow billboard

Анекдоты с бородой — в жизнь. «У нас в СССР — свобода слова! Я тоже могу выйти на Красную площадь и сколько угодно ругат...

A billboard in Moscow is equating President Obama with lung cancer.

In tactics reminiscent of the Cold War, a bus stop ad in the Russian capital features a crudely done Photoshop image of Obama smoking a cigarette with the words: “Smoking kills more people than Obama, although he kills lots and lots of people. Don’t smoke, don’t be like Obama.”

The ad was spotted by Russian lawmaker Dmitry Gudkov, a critic of President Vladimir Putin, who posted it on his Facebook page.

Gudkov decried the anti-American propaganda as “disgusting and embarrassing that this is appearing on the streets of the Russian capital.”

“Soon they’ll be scaring kids with Obama rather than (Russian folklore witch) Baba Yaga,” Gudkov told The Guardian newspaper.

Although no group is listed as the ad’s source, it’s widely assumed to be the work of pro-Putin forces.

For the record, Obama said he hasn’t been a regular smoker for years — but admits falling off the tobacco wagon on occasion.
