Transgender model Andreja Pejić is thrilled that plus-size model Ashley Graham landed the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
“I think that she is absolutely stunning and she well deserves it,” Pejić told The Post on Tuesday. “I think diversity in the beauty and entertainment industry is a beautiful thing. The same old repetitive standard of what’s ‘attractive’ or ‘creative’ or what ‘speaks to consumers’ gets boring.'”
Pejić, who took a break from fashion week to be recognized for her work with the Human Rights Campaign and was keynote speaker at the Time to Thrive Conference in Dallas over the weekend, thinks we are on the verge of having a transwoman in the vaunted bikini bible.
“I definitely think a transwoman in or on the SI swimsuit cover is possible. Why not? Anything is possible!
