Townhouse next door to Woody Allen listed for $27M

A townhouse next door to Woody Allen is on the market for $27 million — which is $4 million less than the owner paid for the home in 2014.

Chris Cole, an Arizona-based investor, secretly bought the townhouse at 116 E. 70th St. through an LLC for $31 million — The Post can reveal — from decorative arts expert Susan Weber Soros, ex-wife of billionaire George Soros.

Cole then tried to shop the house for $33 million.

When the manse didn’t sell, he dropped the price to $28 million.

This week, the price sank to $27 million.

“He’s biting the bullet and willing to take a $4 million hit,” a source said.

It’s another sign that New York City townhouses are often overpriced, as we previously reported.

Part of the problem is that the house, while charming, is a mere 19 feet wide, which is slightly narrower than traditionally narrow 20-foot-wide townhouses.

The five-bedroom home, built in 1869, now features a glass solarium/breakfast room that overlooks a garden, and an elevator.

Soros, who is the founder of the Bard College Graduate Center for Decorative Arts, bought the home for $22.3 million in 2012.
