Subway rider hurt after getting wedged between train, platform

A man at a Queens subway station was injured Monday afternoon when he fell and got lodged between the platform and the train car, officials said.

The commuter was attempting to board a southbound R train just before 3:30 p.m. as the train was departing the Woodhaven Blvd Station in Elmhurst, the MTA said.

The conductor applied the emergency breaks after he noticed the man running on the platform alongside the train.

The victim then somehow lost his balance and became wedged between the subway and the platform, officials said.

He was taken to Elmhurst hospital. Officials didn’t immediately disclose the extent of his injuries.
