Two people, including a young child, were seriously injured after a fire tore through an upper Manhattan apartment building Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The blaze erupted just before 4:30 p.m. on the 11th floor of 40 West 115th, a high rise within the Martin Luther King JR. towers in Harlem.
Nearly 80 firefighters worked to extinguish the flames by 5:05 p.m., the FDNY said.
The victims were taken to St. Lukes Hospital in serious condition. Officials did not immediately disclose the extent of their injuries.
