9 Valentine dates that are cooler than candlelit dinner

Sure, nothing says “I love you” like heart-shaped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. But if you really want to up your game this Valentine’s Day weekend — especially for someone allergic to peanuts — look no further than these cool NYC events to impress your sweetie.

Even if the temps are freezing, no reason why things can’t heat up with these fun, alternative dates.

  1. 1. Time for heavy petting

Even if you can’t commit to a marriage proposal this year, no reason you can’t commit to a cute new cat or dog. For only $25 you can bring one home from the Pop-up Adoption Event in Greenwich Village. Last year’s Valentine’s event saw 63 adopted animals. As a bonus, everyone who adopts gets a rose.

    Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 159 Bleecker St.; ny.bestfriends.org

  2. 2. Get saucy with your sweetie!

    Tamara Beckwith

Things are about to get hot in the kitchen at Pizza Beach LES, where Cupid’s pizza-making class will teach you to craft a heart-shape — and tasty — personal pie.

$45 per person (for unlimited pizza and wine). Sunday at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.; 167 Orchard St.; 646-852-6478

  3. 3. For V-Day adventurers

It’s the inaugural “Supercinema” weekend at the McKittrick Hotel (the home of “Sleep No More”) to celebrate Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 avant-garde “Romeo + Juliet.” There’s a Saturday night party inspired by the film, and guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters — be it a Montague or Capulet. Let’s just hope you and your honey have a happier ending. Ticket packages, $50 and up. Saturday, starting at 11 p.m.

    The McKittrick Hotel, 530 W. 27th St.; supercinemanyc.com

  4. 4. Have an art-felt evening

    MoMA
If you can’t deal with the typical hordes at MoMA, treat yourself to a private group Valentine tour — complete with candlelit wine reception with hors d’oeuvres including smoked-salmon-wrapped celery hearts with creme fraiche and black American caviar.

Amble through the galleries to see the romantic works of Henri Matisse, Andrew Wyeth, and Vincent van Gogh, plus the special exhibition “The Paris of Toulouse-Lautrec: Prints and Posters,” which explores “the rise of nightlife culture and pleasures of belle époque Paris.” You might get some ideas. $200 per couple.

    Saturday, 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 p.m., 11 W. 53rd St; moma.org

Stop at the Robert Indiana sculpture at 55th and Sixth and take a V-Day selfie, on the way to MoMA on 53rd Street.Tamara Beckwith
  5. 5. Love the one you’re with

You probably can’t post any photos to social media, but the raunchy night of debauchery at the “Lust” party at House of Yes in Bushwick will be a night to remember. With body painting, erotic performance art, and a rope- bondage installation on the menu (along with food served off nude bodies), we’re thinking it’s not a second-date kind of evening. Tickets starting at $81.

    Sunday, 7 p.m. 2 Wyckoff Ave., Bushwick; houseofyes.org

  6. 6. Get twisted with your partner

If the name Yoga 4 Better Sex doesn’t get your heart racing, this two-hour “steamy yoga” session at posh 305 Fitness — with wine and chocolate included — just might. Licensed sex therapist Rachel Hoffman is on hand for any burning (we’re hoping not literally) questions you and your flexible honey might have in order to “practice to enhance your intimacy and sex life.” More productive than watching “The Affair” together. $85 per couple.

    Saturday, 1:30 and 4:30 p.m., 18 W. Eighth St.; 305fitness.com

  7. 7. Let him sweep you off your feet — literally

If he’s not springing for a private island for a romantic getaway, at least splurge for a private helicopter ride across the island of Manhattan.

Blade, best known for ferrying 1 percenters to the Hamptons in style, is offering cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in their private West Side lounge, then a flight (weather permitting) to lower Manhattan, passing over the Statue of Liberty.

Once on terra firma, you’re off to dinner at new Italian hot spot, Sessanta (in Soho), for a three-course meal.

$595 per couple; 30th Street at the West Side Highway; flyblade.com

  8. 8. Swoon at the cinema

    Everett Collection
Audrey Hepburn teamed with Humphrey Bogart and William Holden: Does it get any better than this? Billy Wilder’s 1954 classic, “Sabrina,” is screening throughout Sunday at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Rose Cinemas. It’s a classic rom-com that puts today’s silly rom-coms to shame. $14 per person.

    Sunday, 2, 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m., 30 Lafayette Ave., Brooklyn; bam.org/film
