A Merdedes burst into flames on near the High Line on Tuesday just seconds after two men jumped from the smoking car, cops and witnesses said.

The driver pulled over around 12:30 p.m. near a row of food carts at the corner of West 34th Street and Eleventh Avenue as smoke poured from the vehicle, officials said

Moments after the two men stepped out of the car, it burst into flames, nearly igniting the propane tanks connected to the carts.

“I [saw] the car coming — It [was] full of smoke,” said vendor Mohamed Ali, 33.

“The guy brought the car here and stopped,” he said. “After [getting] out the fire started. Everything is damaged.”

Firefighters responded to the fire and managed to put out the flames — but not before the car was reduced to a charred shell. There were no injuries

“We [were] lucky because the fire department came on time,” Ali said. “One more minute and everything would have blown up.”
