‘Married at First Sight’ wife to husband: ‘You’re a liar’

Warning: This article contains spoilers from Episode 11 of “Married at First Sight.”

After last week’s episode ended with Ashley confronting her husband with allegations of cheating, David had some ’splaining to do in Tuesday’s episode of “Married at First Sight” — and his wife isn’t buying his excuse.

He explains to her that him asking another woman out for drinks wasn’t meant in a romantic sense, to which she reads back the message he sent: “‘I wanna call you up and ask you out for drinks’ — that does not sound like a friends thing,” she says.

David claims the woman is a mutual acquaintance and he just wanted to meet her to learn more about Ashley — but his wife denies knowing the girl in question.

“I don’t believe you. It’s BS, David,” she says before storming off.

While he thinks Ashley is overreacting to a simple miscommunication, to her it has destroyed their trust — the one thing they did have absent any romance or intimacy in their marriage. David won’t drop the subject, writing her a note the next morning to try to better explain his intentions, but all she wants is an admission of wrongdoing that he’s not giving.

“You’re a liar and I have nothing else to say to you,” Ashley says before walking out of the room.

“That’s pretty indicative of our relationship, you running away,” he replies.

Clear that his wife is not going to move past this easily, David goes to Buffalo to visit his family — where he has a teary graveside chat with his late father in which he admits that “my marriage has gone to s- -t.”

He heads back to Atlanta with a renewed motivation to make things right with Ashley — but will she be able to forgive him for breaking her trust?

Compared to David and Ashley’s epic fight, our other “Married at First Sight” couples were doing just peachy in Tuesday’s episode. Tres and Vanessa have moved on from their night apart last week and are going all out with the romantic gestures — he picks up medicine and dinner when she’s feeling sick, she makes him a gift basket for their one-month wedding anniversary and he surprises her with dessert for her birthday. Can you say “Aww”?

Neil and Sam, meanwhile, take a major step forward in their relationship when they finally move out of her townhouse and into their own place, which should make him more comfortable in the marriage.
