These celebs have old baby faces

Eternal boyishness doesn’t wear well on the aging Hollywood star. Just when you’re expecting the actor who first achieved notoriety as a young buck to mature into a more masculine, authoritative figure, disappointment sets in when that fails to happen. The face remains soft and round (and sometimes rounder than in youth), as if puberty has yet to kick in — and oddly unlined. Time has barely touched the faces of these film and television stars.

  1. 1. Leonardo DiCaprio

Leo, 41, has tried growing a beard to butch up his act, but he still looks ridiculously boyish. It hasn’t hurt his income any, but he’s not always believable in roles that require him to be a man’s man. If he wins the Oscar for “The Revenant,” he should give a special thanks to the costume designer and wig master who virtually camouflaged him.

  2. 2. Orlando Bloom

The former teen idol, who rose to fame in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, is still unsullied of brow and cheek. With his 40th birthday coming up, he may run into problems with casting directors when it comes time to play his age because he looks nothing like it.

  3. 3. Matt Damon

Matt’s youthfulness has served him well, especially when cast as Liberace’s litigious boy toy in “Behind the Candelabra.” With his clear brow and goofy grin, he doesn’t appear to ever have had a dark night of the soul. With an Oscar nomination this year for “The Martian,” Damon, 45, is smiling all the way to the bank.

  4. 4. Ryan Phillippe

Like Leo, Phillippe has also tried curly facial hair to lend gravitas to his dewy complexion and sensuous mouth. No doubt those came in handy when filming “Cruel Intentions” in his prime, but people are always shocked to learn that the actor, now 41, has two teenage children.

  5. 5. Tobey Maguire

Another man-child. It doesn’t help that the baby-faced Maguire, 40, is also slight of stature. When he appeared alongside Leo in a remake of “The Great Gatsby,” it was like watching a big-budget, high-school production.

  6. 6. Vincent Kartheiser

Perfectly cast as annoying brat Pete Campbell on “Mad Men,” the blue-eyed Kartheiser, 36, looks like a choir boy with a dirty secret.

  7. 7. Ryan Seacrest

A boyish grin, preppy haircut and squeaky-clean vibe have made “American Idol” host and TV mogul Seacrest, 41, into one of the richest men in television.

  8. 8. Jimmy Fallon

Not only does Jimmy look like that kid you went to camp with — when you were eight — but his high voice, boundless enthusiasm when playing games with the guests on his show and innocent face make you think you are at Camp Runamuck.

  9. 9. Matt Czuchry

The baby-faced “Good Wife” star, who plays post-frat boy lawyer Cary Agos, looks like he’s 12.
