Girl’s friends help fight off attacker outside school

An 11-year-old girl told cops that she and her friends were walking home in The Bronx when a man grabbed her from behind by her neck, police said.

The man pounced on the girl at 6 p.m. Friday in front of 977 Fox St., the address of IS 217, the School of Performing Arts.

Her friends started punching and kicking the attacker, and he let the child go.

But he then chased them down the street. They only escaped by boarding a bus. The man fled.
