Hero cop, and his horse, nab suspected Chelsea slasher

NYPD brass on Thursday hailed the police officer — and his trusty steed — who arrested the suspect wanted in the Chelsea slasher attack.

“Great police work by #Mounted PO Ogundae & `Clyde’ apprehending the perp from the slashing yesterday,” tweeted NYPD Chief of Special Operations Harry Wedin, with a photo of the 11-year veteran cop, and his horse.

Ogundae was flagged down Wednesday evening by a pedestrian who spotted a person who matched the description of the man accused of knifing 24-year-old Amanda Morris’ face about 12 hours earlier, police said.

The good Samaritan followed the man for a few blocks near St. Patrick’s Cathedral before flagging down Ogundae at around 6 p.m.– leading to the arrest of 41-year-old Kari Bazemore, authorities said.

Brooklyn resident Morris was on her way to work when she was suddenly attacked from behind near Seventh Avenue and West 24th Street at 5:35 a.m.
