Rory McIlroy is off the market — again.
The 26-year-old golfer reportedly popped the question to his girlfriend of nearly a year, PGA of America employee Erica Stoll, atop the Eiffel Tower during a recent getaway. McIlroy fueled speculation of an engagement after posting a snap of the Parisian landmark to Instagram on Wednesday, per the Irish Independent.
Reps for McIlroy have neither confirmed nor denied the engagement, stating, “We don’t comment on speculation about our client’s personal life.”
McIlroy and Stoll made their first public appearance together at the Royal County Down, the site of the Irish Open, in May, though they have been linked since April.
“I have met someone new,” McIlroy told the Times Magazine earlier this year. “She doesn’t play golf, but she is involved with golf. I have known her for three years and we are good friends … If everything off the golf course is good, it allows you to be better on it as well.”
The Irishman famously ended his engagement to Caroline Wozniacki with a brief phone call, which she originally believed to be a joke.
“Oh I was shocked,” the tennis ace said on “In Depth with Graham Bensinger.” “I thought at least, you know, I would get a face-to-face or something, but there was nothing. It was just a phone call and I did not hear from him again. It kind of just ended.”
