Man nabbed after stabbing wife, driving off with daughter

A Bronx man repeatedly stabbed his wife Tuesday and then drove off with their 3-year-old daughter — but was caught several hours later in New Jersey, police said.

Police released this image of Valenzuela fleeing with his daughter in a 2004 Dodge Caravan.

Diomedes Valenzuela, 51, fled in a grey 2004 Dodge Caravan after stabbing his wife Yudelky Cruz in her neck and body in their second-floor apartment on Perry Avenue at about 1:45 p.m.

New Jersey State Police nabbed him hours later on the Garden State Parkway.

Cruz, 31, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert to cell phones about the missing child.
