Terrorist bought detonators at fireworks store before Paris attacks

A terrorist involved in the Nov. 13 attacks in France bought detonators for suicide bombs near Paris just weeks before the bloodbath, according to a new report.

The owner of a fireworks store north of Paris told cops that Salah Abdeslam — who shed his suicide vest and fled Paris for Belgium the day after the attacks — bought about a dozen electric detonators in October, Le Parisien reported.

The devices are battery-operated lighters intended for fireworks that could have also ignited the acetone peroxide that was in the explosive jackets worn by terrorists at the Stade de France and the Bataclan concert hall.

Abdeslam, 26, who is still on the run, showed his driver’s license as proof of identity and even left it with the store owner, according to the newspaper.

The owner of the fireworks store alerted police after the Paris attacks, which killed 130 people. He recalled Abdeslam’s peculiar behavior and his emphasis on the reliability of the devices.

Abdeslam was listed as a criminal on a database used by European police, but was not flagged as a suspect.
