Out-of-control Mercedes drags cop along Midtown sidewalk

A veteran NYPD cop was dragged along a sidewalk by an out-of-control Mercedes-Benz during the Thursday-afternoon rush hour in Midtown, sources said.

Officer Richard Cho suffered minor injuries in the incident, which happened while he was alone on foot patrol at about 5:30 p.m. and tried to flag down the motorist for a traffic violation on Sixth Avenue near 50th Street.

The driver sped onto the sidewalk and clipped Cho, whose uniform got snagged on the Mercedes, which likely had been stolen, sources said.

The driver escaped, and Cho was treated for bruises.
