NHL star’s wife rips media for spoiling pregnancy news

Word to the wise: Never mess with a pregnant WAG.

The expectant wife of Canadiens goalie Carey Price is fuming after several media outlets leaked the news of their pregnancy before the parents-to-be had a chance to tell their friends and family about the impending arrival.

“Unfortunately this exciting moment was stolen from us,” Angela Price notes in a lengthy blog post from Wednesday. “A gossip website took the initiative to announce our pregnancy over the weekend. We were lucky that most reputable media outlets seemed to have basic human decency and did not share the story.”

While the future mom also explains that she and Carey were mulling over different ways to break the news, the blond bombshell further ripped into the media for their “heartless” ways.

“The past couple of weeks Carey and I had been discussing ways we could announce our big news,” Price discloses. “But why would a first time mother and father want to be the ones to announce this big news, when heartless media can do that for you?!”

“To 25 Stanley, @JohnLuTSMtl and other publications who had the audacity to share our pregnancy, shame on you. That was disrespectful, tasteless and just plain cruel,” she continues.

Though one of the reporters has since apologized — with a mini-novel of his own — Price makes a final request to the press that they be “more respectful” in the future.

And with a due date still several months away, Price has plenty of time to toy around with baby names, all the while ruling out the rather unique motifs.

“Just to confirm we will not be naming our baby ‘Stanley,'” Price says. “But thank you for all the suggestions ;).”
