People are sleeping on an NYC sidewalk to meet Rihanna

Rihanna is scheduled to make a brief appearance at a Macy’s in downtown Brooklyn on Monday — but that doesn’t mean her fans haven’t been preparing for this moment for days.

RiRi announced on her Twitter account Thursday evening that she’d be stopping by the Macy’s on Fulton Street Monday at 4 p.m. to promote her latest fragrance — and just a day later, a number of people camped out on the sidewalk outside the store to await the pop star’s arrival.

“It’s Friday!!!! That means I’ll be at @Macys downtown Brooklyn in 3 days!!!! That didn’t stop the NAVY from getting a head start to the front of the line at 6am today!!! Lol!! Yall are too trill!! I can’t wait to see you on MONDAY!!,” she shared on Instagram.

Beginning Friday, at store opening, the first 400 customers to purchase Macy’s exclusive RiRi three-piece fragrance set for $116 received a VIP pass to meet Rihanna and have their photo taken with her on Monday.

Macy’s claims that there are still VIP passes left, so it’s unclear why exactly these people are camping out. Perhaps they’re simply hoping for a glimpse of the “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer before she walks in the door?

Either way, it begs the question: Is Rihanna really worth sleeping on an NYC sidewalk for three nights?
