Police search for woman who stabbed boyfriend to death

Investigators are hunting for a woman who stabbed her boyfriend to death early Saturday morning in the Bronx apartment they shared, police sources said.

The 51-year-old victim was found gravely wounded inside the 10th floor apartment on East 169th Street near Third Avenue in Morrisania around 1:20 a.m., cops said.

First responders rushed the man to Lincoln Hospital, but he could not be saved. Officials are withholding his identity pending family notification of his death.

A police source said the victim’s 24-year-old live-in girlfriend is the prime suspect in the slaying — but she’s nowhere to be found.

“They had a fight. The girlfriend stabbed him and took off,” the source said. “We’ll catch her.”

It remains unclear what kicked off the deadly spat.

“There are a lot of people in mourning around here today,” a female acquaintance of the victim said at the scene. “There are a lot of broken hearts. We don’t know what started it. He was the nicest man.”
