Obama hitting Broadway with daughters after $1M fund-raiser

WASHINGTON — President Obama is taking in some father-daughter bonding time in a rare jaunt to New York City without his wife, Michelle.

The weekend trip with daughters Malia, 17, and Sasha, 14, included dinner Friday night at the trendy Italian restaurant Carbone in Greenwich Village and an after-hours tour at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Obama and the teens were also expected to attend the matinee performance of the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton” on Saturday.

But before the fun could begin, Obama attended a big-bucks fund-raiser Friday night for the Democratic National Committee, hosted by supporters George and Nitzia Logothetis, that was slated to bring in $1 million.

George Logothetis is a shipping heir and chairman of Libra Group, a company involved in shipping, hotels and other ventures. About 30 supporters were contributing $33,400 each to attend, according to a DNC official. The event was closed to the press.

The couple previously hosted Obama upstate in 2014 for a similar shindig for 25 well-heeled guests.

Cars were backed up several blocks on Madison Avenue when Obama left the fund-raiser, but most drivers appeared OK with the delay.

“I’d like to be moving right now, but it’s the president, it’s not like it’s de Blasio,” said lawyer Owen Schmidt, 33, an attorney on his way upstate with his wife and toddler daughter.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Obama was “looking forward to a rare opportunity he’ll have to spend a little personal time with his daughters in New York.”

White House pool reporters weren’t likely to get a clear view of all the activities this time.

“That might interfere with the personal nature of the father-daughter time,” Earnest said.

The hip-hop musical “Hamilton” tells the story of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, who’s in danger of getting bumped off the $10 bill under an Obama-administration initiative.

Malia has already taken a shine to New York.

The Post recently spotted her on the set of the HBO series “Girls,” where she reportedly snagged an internship with creator Lena Dunham.
