A man was shot and killed early Monday when he tried to break up a fight at a barbecue in Coney Island, police said. Philadelphia resident Erick Rivera, 51, was in Brooklyn visiting his son for Father’s Day when he was shot through the head after the melee erupted at Kaiser Park, sources said. The victim tried to get in between two groups of women before an unknown gunman shot him just after midnight, cops said. Police believe at least 12 people were involved in the scrum. Rivera was a parolee who had served 13 years in prison for murder, cops said. Police are still hunting for the killer and are canvassing the area for any surveillance video that might yield clues. The killing happened on Bayview avenue near Neptune avenue, just across from a crime-ridden Gravesend housing project. Neighbors who witnessed the fight were not surprised by the chaos and described the neighborhood as a violent and dangerous place to live. One neighbor who asked not to be named said, “This is getting worse every day.”

A 14-year-old boy was wounded in a drive-by shooting in East Flatbush, authorities said. The victim was walking with a 15-year-old friend on Brooklyn Avenue near Clarendon Road on Sunday at about 4 p.m. when a Ford SUV pulled up behind them and a man inside fired six or seven bullets, cops said. The 14-year-old was struck in the leg and was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was in stable condition. His friend was not injured. There have been no arrests and police are searching for the two suspects in the SUV. It remains unclear what sparked the shooting and whether the teen was the intended target, cops said.

A woman was attacked and pushed out of a subway after an argument turned violent in Prospect Park South, cops said. The 34-year-old victim and another woman bumped into each other on a Q train on May 23 at about 10:30 a.m., cops said. After the argument escalated, the suspect (above) slugged the woman, causing her head to hit a pole, and the attacker then pushed her off the train as it entered the Church Avenue station, police said. The victim declined medical attention at the scene.

The Bronx

A man was busted with a loaded gun and drugs during a traffic stop in front of a police station in Soundview, cops said. Anti-crime officers were in their unmarked car outside the 43rd Precinct station on the corner of Story and Fteley avenues Saturday at about 10:30 p.m. when they saw a car speeding as it turned onto Fteley without using a turn signal, cops said. When officers stopped the car, they smelled marijuana and noticed James Glisson fidgeting with his clothes while in the front passenger seat, police said. When Glisson wouldn’t stop moving, cops ordered all five passengers out of the vehicle. One of the officers noticed Glisson was hiding a .40-caliber Glock 27 pistol in his right pants pocket, cops said. After being searched at the precinct house, officers discovered Glisson also had three small bags of pot in his left pants pocket. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana, cops said.

A thug robbed a taxi driver after he was dropped off in University Heights, police said. The green cab picked up the suspect on East Fordham Road in Fordham Manor on Sunday at about 2:25 p.m., cops said. When the driver dropped the man off on Creston Avenue near East 181st Street, the passenger put his hand in a shopping bag and pointed it at the driver, simulating he had a gun, cops said. The robber then swiped $125 from the driver and fled the scene, police said. The cabby was not harmed. The suspect (above) was described as about 20 years old with hair braids. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap, a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Queens

A man was beaten and robbed at gunpoint in the basement of a Jamaica apartment building, cops said. The 24-year-old victim was inside the building on Jamaica Avenue near 172nd Street when three men entered and pulled guns on him on June 17 at about 2:45 p.m., police said. The suspects then struck the victim multiple times with the guns before stealing his keys and fleeing, according to police. The victim was treated for minor injuries, cops said. The suspects are believed to be 20 to 25 years old.
