Vice President Joe Biden managed to flash his trademark smile Thursday at an emotional Delaware wake honoring his oldest son, who died last week after a bout with brain cancer.
The heartbroken Biden’s spirits seemed to lift as he greeted well-wishers near Beau Biden’s flag-draped casket, including Gov. Cuomo, who traveled to the Delaware Legislative Hall for the first of several memorials.
Biden embraced Cuomo and gave him a kiss before chatting briefly , clearly moved that the governor came to pay his respects.
Beau Biden, 46 was Delaware’s attorney general for eight years. A former National Guardsman, he had been gearing up to run for governor in 2016.
