A new Netflix drama, ‘Hannibal’ returns and more on TV this week

1. “Sense 8”

Friday, Netflix

“Matrix” filmmakers Andy and Lana Wachowski and Joe Straczynski (“Babylon 5”) have created “Sense8,” a new series that follows a group of eight strangers around the world. They are linked through their personalities and become connected after the death of a sensate (a member of a different group of eight). The connection means they start sharing sensations, like tasting food that another is eating and seeing someone that no one else can see. Sounds pretty damn weird.

2. “The Whispers”

Monday, 10 p.m., ABC

Washington DC is the setting of this new series that concerns children who are at risk from an Internet predator known as Drill. He would like everyone to believe he is an imaginary friend who convinces his underage pals to play mysterious games. When one of those games turns out to be dangerous, FBI child specialist Claire Bennigan (Lily Rabe) is called in to investigate. She wonders what it is that Drill wants, and why does he only communicate with children? Co-starring Kristen Connolly of “House of Cards” fame.

After the Burkes’ run-in with Sheriff Pope (Terrence Howard), they head back into town to discover that Ethan (Matt Dillon) has been appointed a new leadership role in Wayward Pines. Meanwhile, Ben goes to his first day of school at Wayward Pines Academy, where he gets private tutoring from teacher Megan Fisher (Hope Davis), and Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon) is offered a job as a realtor.
