Ronda Rousey: I would never fight Mayweather, unless we were dating

Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather are arguably the two most dominant fighters on the planet.

Rousey has cleaned out the UFC women’s ranks, winning her last fight in just 14 seconds, while Mayweather took his record to 48-0 with a clinical decision win against Manny Pacquiao in the “Fight of the Century”.

Rousey has dipped her toes into the waters of Hollywood in recent times and is currently doing a bit of promotional work as part of her role in the upcoming Entourage film.

It means we all get to benefit from reporters like Stephanie Bauer from Access Hollywood getting her to open up about topics a mixed martial arts journalist would never broach — like Tinder, her perfect man and how she wants to be treated when she gets home from the gym.

But Bauer also made an attempt to talk MMA, asking Rousey the most hypothetical of questions regarding a fight with Mayweather.

“Mayweather’s undefeated, you’re undefeated, the general thought is — we’d love to see you guys get in the ring,” Bauer said. “Could you take him down?”

And that’s when the 11-0 bantamweight champion stepped up and delivered the perfect take-down.

“Well, I would never say that I can’t beat anyone,” Rousey answered. “But I don’t think me and him would ever fight — unless we ended up dating.”

Rousey was no doubt referencing Mayweather’s history of domestic violence. As for the type of man she’d actually consider dating, Rousey had this to say.

“Everyone expects that I want these giant, burly guys, and that’s not really the case. I don’t come home from the gym and feel like super rough … I want to be a girl when I come home. I want to be taken care of when I get home,” she said. “Right now, I’m waiting for a tall, dark pediatrician or something, you know … Something like that.”

Mayweather isn’t the only fighter Rousey has been going after in the past week.

She also had this to say about Cris “Cyborg” Santos — the woman most MMA fighters would like to see her take on — on Howard Stern’s show.

“She’s one of those people where it’s all just ‘roids and muscle and no technique. No anything,” Rousey said.

It prompted a lengthy response from Cyborg on her Facebook page.

“When Ronda first started using my name in interviews to build hers during our Strikeforce days it use to make me mad, however it has gotten to the point that I now feel sorry for her,” Cyborg wrote.

“You can tell she isn’t happy with life. She is world champion in the UFC and has the same grumpy face no matter what picture you see of her.

“In almost every interview she gives she’s talking bad about people wether it is me, Meisha Tate, the Ring Card Girls or an Ex Boyfriend and the only time she ever says anything good about someone is when she is talking about herself…lol…I’m sure even she doesn’t really believe she’s got the best ass in MMA.”
