The Bronx mom who spun a yarn about her baby being attacked by baseball bat-wielding thugs to hide the fact that she dropped the infant has been charged with filing a false police report, cops said.
Daphane Sanders, 22, was afraid to tell cops that she’d accidentally dropped 2-month-old Michael Hodge on his head early Tuesday morning, so she fabricated the tall tale, sources said.
Sanders allegedly told cops she was jumped by two bat-waving goons outside a Rite Aid in Soundview around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, sources said.
The child is conscious, alert, and expected to survive.
