Woman busted with 4 pounds of coke in her underwear: officials

Does this make me look fat?

Airline passenger Olive Fowler apparently wasn’t worried about her wide waistline when she caught at JFK Airport earlier this month — wearing underwear and a girdle stuffed with 4 pounds of cocaine, according to US Customs officials.

Fowler, a 70-year-old Guyanese citizen, was nabbed April 12 after arriving at JFK Airport on a flight from Georgetown, Guyana, and displaying “numerous signs of nervousness,” according to Anthony Bucci, a spokesman for the US Customs and Border Protection.

She was led into a private search room, where CBP officers conducted a physical search that revealed that she had bags of white powder concealed inside her underwear and girdle that tested positive for cocaine, according to Bucci.

The cache totaled 4 pounds and had a street value of more than $73,000 he said

“It was one pair of [black] underwear and one [white] girdle,” Bucci said.

Robert Perez, director of CBP’s New York Field Operations, added in a statement, “This seizure is just another example of our CBP officers being ever vigilant in protecting the United States from the distribution of these illicit drugs.”

Fowler faces federal narcotics smuggling charges in Brooklyn Federal Court.
