6 sitcom stars-turned-game show hosts

Sitcom stars (OK, and one late-night personality) are in high demand as game show hosts. In the past several years, we’ve seen Drew Carey, Steve Harvey, Jane Lynch, Wayne Brady, Craig Ferguson and Terry Crews make the transition from one genre to another — in the cases of Harvey, Lynch, Ferguson and Crews, holding down both jobs simultaneously (Harvey now hosts daytime’s “Steve Harvey”).

You can now add Billy Gardell to the list.

Gardell, who stars on the CBS sitcom “Mike & Molly” with Melissa McCarthy, joins the exclusive game show-hosting family as the emcee of “Monopoly Millionaires’ Club,” which premieres Sunday (7 p.m.) on WPIX/Channel 11.

In honor of Gardell’s entry into this esteemed group, here’s a look at Carey, Harvey, Lynch, et al., in their sitcom incarnations — and wearing their game show hats.
